TV9 Filmy : ‘Pyaarge Agbittaithe’ – Govindaya Namaha Movie Reviews – 3/3…….,
Komal Kumar’s much-hyped Govindaya Namaha can be best described as an out and out fun film. Though the movie does not have a great story, it entertains the audience through well-written one-liners, which break the funny bones of the audience.
From the word go, Govindaya Namaha impresses the viewers with dialogues. The movie begins with Govinda’s (Komal) wish to commit suicide. He comes to an under-construction skyscraper where he meet another man (Harsha) — who was in the news a several months ago for threatening to jump from a theatre. The latter too wants to end his life following an unsuccessful love. The duo decides to exchange
their stories before killing themselves.
It is now revealed that Govinda is a rogue and he has a dishonest person. He has cheated three girls one after the other. Firstly, in his native place, he makes a rich girl named Vydehi (Madhulika) to fall in love with him. But her father (Mukyamantri Chandru) opposes their marriage. However, Govinda’s grandfather (Dattanna) comes to his rescue by giving his grandson Rs 1 lakh. He asks him to elope with her and settle in Bangalore. The wicked boy escapes from the place alone and decides to enjoy his life with that amount. Later, he ditches two more girls. But why he wants to commit suicide, and will he ever have a true love? Answers to this questions should be seen on-screen.
Komal has done one-man show. His comic acts and his body language are very impressive. His wonderful performance backed with excellent dialogues are the strength of Govindaya Namaha. Especially, the actor’s Kannada-Urdu mix dialect has to be praised. Among three actresses – Parul Yadav, Madhulika and Rekha — the first one has more scenes and she has given her best. The other two girls does not have much sequences except a song for each of them and a several scenes with Komal. Other characters like Harish Raj and Rajive Thalikote have done justice to their roles.
Technically, the music album scored by Gurukiran has already become a chartbuster of the year with three songs (Pyarge, Moda modalige and Sura sura) being massive hits. Cinematography by Suresh Babu is good. And finally, debutant director Pawan Wadeyar succeeds in his first attempt. The director, who has penned story, screenplay, dialogues, gets a top rating for his funny one-liners. However,
his screenplay, at parts, is dragging and gets a feel of boredom. Adding to that the movie has a lot of double entendre dialogues that seem to have escaped the censors.
Verdict: Govindaya Namah is an extremely funny film and it is a paisa-vasool affair. It is a two-odd-hour full of entertainment.
